A good portion of our day involves hiking the property, checking on the cows, and getting some exercise in for this little rascal (by which I mean the one on the left).

Running shoes might work a few times a year, but most days call for boots and crew-length socks. They do a much better job of handling dust, foxtails, and the general indignities of ranch life. That’s why I always reach for my favorite ugg booties for women when heading outdoors.

Whether it’s a casual stroll or an outdoor adventure, ugg booties for women are my go-to choice for comfort and style.
They have that familiar plush lining UGG is known for, paired with a surprisingly springy foam sole that genuinely feels like walking on clouds. I’ve worn them comfortably in light rain, and according to the official description, they’re built to handle light snow as well. Best of all, true to classic UGG form, they can slip on and off without any lace-wrangling, ideal for hustling out the door to start the dog’s walk or kicking them off hands-free when I’m back at the house.
We’re also Caterpillar fans around here. My father was an avid tractor collector, and we even have a (for now) very unrestored version of their circa 1930’s vintage classic on the ranch…

…but pulling on steel-toed Cat work boots just to take a walk in the hills can feel like preparing for a small construction project.

That said, I love them for tougher jobs, when serious foot protection is non-negotiable, or during truly muddy weather. The cerulean blue color option suits my personality perfectly, and Caterpillar offers a surprisingly fun range of eight variations beyond the usual tan, white, black, and brown.
Sadly, it looks like my exact UGG Hi-Top has been phased out in favor of a lower-cut version, though the newer model keeps all the versatility I’ve mentioned, with an added bonus: extra plush. The earlier version still turns up on sites like Poshmark and Ebay. As the product description says, “This boot bridges the gap between traditional UGG comfort and technical winter footwear, offering warmth, dryness, and good traction for cold, wet, or snowy days without sacrificing that UGG feel.“
That’s no exaggeration, and in this case, the copy gets it right.
